That's right. The hike to the waterfall is so short I hesitate to even call it a hike. It took me longer to get proper shoes on the kids, apply sunscreen, put protective clothing on, pack snacks and water in our bags, and argue with the girls repeatedly to put their hats on than it did to actually hike the trail.
Use this address to enter into google so you could get directions from where you are:
4010 Linda Place, Dunsmuir CA 96025
Once you've exited the 5 interstate offramp, you will make a turn onto Siskiyou Ave. If you came from the southbound 5, you will make a right and if you came from the northbound 5, you will make a left.
Instead of turning left on Mott Road to reach the address above, make a right and you will immediately find a dirt lot that serves as the parking lot for Hedge Falls visitors.
From the parking lot, cross the street towards the "forest". Conveniently, a large sign identifies this as the trailhead for Hedge Creek Falls.
The trail is super short and there is no other destination or turns to take before the waterfall so there is no chance of getting lost. Unless you decided to forge your own path through the bushes.
At first I wasn't too impressed by Hedge Creek, but the more I looked and walked around it, the more I liked it!
It didn't hurt that there was a sizable cave behind the waterfall so you could look out from behind the water.
