I am loving public markets! And i am especially loving Oxbow Public Market.
The first time I visited Napa decades ago (I hope you’re bad at math), it seemed like all the eateries were dine-in restaurants and since Napa is widely considered one of the food and wine capitals in the world, said eateries seemed mostly fancy.
Not all of us are fancy so I was really happy to hear that a public market exists.
And what a public market it is too: Oxbow Public Market is great!
It has bakeries, coffee shops, restaurants, wine shops, bookstore, spice shop, tea leaves store, picnic provisions shop... it would take you more than one meal to get the most out of this market. Oh, and there are multiple parking lots too.
The following are some recommended shoppes for you. Let me know in the comments section what your favorite shoppe is in Oxbow.
Ritual Coffee Roasters
Good strong coffee!! First came across this coffee place in San Francisco. I was ever so glad to find a good coffee place that I can default to.
Hog Island Oyster Bar
Great selection of great oysters. And you don't even have to go to make the drive to Tomales Bay!
Five Dot Ranch & Cookhouse
Stop by for a hearty meal. They have a good heart breakfast too! May I suggest not skipping the doughnut bites with lavender sugar?
Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant
For your picnic provisions. The staff know their stuff. Great selection of meats, cheeses, wines and breads in various sizes so you don’t get stuck with a giant wheel in a pic-a-nic for two.
The Whole Spice
They don't just sell spices, they have different salts too! And the proprietors wouldn't hesitate to educate you on the spices either.
Napa Bookmine
This is a great place to get gifts for those you left at home.
